Showdown Rules
Showdown Rules
Operator: the Operator (trading as upc0z)
Document classification: Public
These Showdown Rules govern participation in Showdown, a separate wagering product offered by upc0z. Showdown operates through its own account, wallet and balance, and is distinct from our main Betting product. These Rules should be read together with our General Terms & Conditions; where those General Terms cover a matter not addressed here, they apply. Where there is a conflict on a Showdown matter, these Rules prevail. Capitalised terms have the meaning given in the Glossary below.
1. Glossary of Defined Terms
- Auto Pick — a combination of Selections generated by our system for a Sports Leg that will become the Player's Sports Leg automatically if the Player does not change it before that Leg begins.
- Back Half — the second half of the Races included in a Showdown (the final 6 Races of a 12-Race Showdown), counted whether or not every such Race is actually run.
- Back Your Bet (BYB) — a novelty bet in which a Player wagers on their own performance, namely on achieving at least a stated number of Green Thumbs in a Showdown (up to 12).
- Best Tote — the highest price available across the three Australian TAB totalisators.
- Buy-In — one bet or entry into a Showdown.
- Buy-In Fee — the stake for one Buy-In. For a Flexi Entry, the fee is proportional to the Flexi share.
- Buy-In Lockout — the time after which a Buy-In can no longer be made, as shown on the Showdown Platforms.
- Eligible Race — a Race in a Showdown that runs on its scheduled date and is not cancelled, suspended or postponed.
- Entry — one bet or entry into a Racing or Sports Showdown, which may be a Buy-In, Re-Buy or Flexi.
- Flexi — an Entry representing a fraction of a full (100%) Entry, entitling the holder to the equivalent fraction of any Payout.
- Front Half — the first 6 Races included in a Showdown.
- Green Thumbs — the indicator shown on the Platform marking a winning Leg in a Showdown.
- Leaderboard — the list of Players in a Showdown ranked by their accumulated Points.
- Official Results — the final results declared by the Stewards for a Race or by the governing body for a Sport.
- Payout — the winnings a Player may receive in a Showdown (cash or complimentary Buy-In/Re-Buy). Until the relevant contest completes, the Payout is an estimate only.
- Player / "you" / "your" — a person who holds a Showdown Account and/or has an Entry in a Showdown.
- Points — the points awarded to a Player for a Selection.
- Prize Table — the estimated Payouts for a Showdown, shown on the Showdown Platforms, expressed for a full Entry.
- Re-Buy — one bet or Entry into the Back Half of a Showdown.
- Showdown — a tote-derivative or Fixed Odds multi-bet product in which Players compete against each other to score Points, including a Racing, Sports or Tipping Showdown.
- Showdown Account — the dedicated betting account and wallet a Player must open and use to enter any Showdown.
- Showdown Wallet — the wallet into which a Player deposits funds, places Entries and receives Showdown winnings.
- Sports Showdown — a Fixed Odds multi-bet contest in which Players compete to score Points.
- Tipping Showdown — a racing, sports, or combined tipping contest in which Players compete to score Points based on Fixed Odds for each Tipping Round.
- upc0z / "we" / "us" / "our" — the Operator.
2. Showdown Account and Eligibility
You must hold a Showdown Account to enter any Showdown, and you must use that Showdown Account to enter. The Showdown Account, its wallet and balance are separate from your main upc0z Betting account. Funds, deposit limits and other controls applicable to the Showdown product are administered through the Showdown Account, and access is limited to eligible, verified account holders located in jurisdictions where the product is offered.
3. Entering a Showdown
- 1. To Buy-In, make a Selection for each available Race or Event on the Showdown Platforms before the Buy-In Lockout.
- 2. Re-Buys may be offered during the Re-Buy Period. To Re-Buy, make a Selection for each available Race in the Back Half during that period.
- 3. For each Selection you must choose either Win or Place (Racing Showdown), or a Win or individual player Selection (Sports Showdown).
- 4. You may be allowed more than one Entry where the Platforms permit. We may limit which Showdowns you can enter and how many Entries you may hold.
- 5. You can make each Selection yourself or use Quickpick to generate Selections automatically.
- 6. Your Entry is confirmed only once you press "Confirm Bet" and receive the "Purchase Complete" confirmation.
- 7. The Entry Fee is deducted from your Showdown Wallet on entry. If your wallet does not hold sufficient funds, the Entry is invalid and any Selections are void.
- 8. You may change Selections up to the Buy-In Lockout. You may not cancel a confirmed Entry.
- 9. When you purchase an Entry you enter a betting contract with us, not with other Players.
- 10. Any Buy-In made after the Buy-In Lockout is void. Any Re-Buy made after the Re-Buy Lockout is void.
- 11. Flexi Entries are available where indicated; a Flexi entitles you to the proportional share of a Payout.
4. Promotional Entries (Bonus Rules)
- 1. We may make bonus funds or promotional Buy-Ins available, including as Showdown prizes, in line with applicable advertising and inducement rules.
- 2. Bonus funds and promotional Re-Buys may be withdrawn at any time before use at our sole discretion.
- 3. Promotional Entries, bonus funds and Re-Buy tokens expire eight (8) days after issue.
- 4. Only one Promotional Entry or Re-Buy Token may be used per Showdown unless stated otherwise.
5. Scratchings, Cancellations and Non-Runners
- 1. If your Selection in a Race is scratched or declared a non-runner, your Entry is automatically reassigned to the lowest-numbered remaining Runner in that Race at the time.
- 2. If your Selection is a runner but does not finish the Race, you receive no Points for it.
- 3. Points scaling by field size: 8 or more Runners — Points for first, second and third; 5 to 7 Runners — first and second only; 4 or fewer Runners — first only.
- 4. Front Half / Back Half: if at least two-thirds of Eligible Races in a half are completed and declared, the relevant Payouts apply per the Prize Table. If fewer than 4 Eligible Races in a half run, there are no Payouts for that half, but Entries remain valid.
- 5. Main Showdown: if at least two-thirds of Eligible Races are completed and declared, Main Showdown Payouts apply. If not, all Entries are void and Entry Fees refunded.
- 6. If a Showdown attracts fewer Buy-Ins than our published minimum, or a malfunction materially affects any part of a Showdown, we may cancel it, in which case all Entries are void and Entry Fees refunded.
6. Scoring (Showdown Points)
- 1. Your Entry earns Points for each Race or Sports Leg. Race results are the Official Results; Sport results are as declared by the governing body.
- 2. Racing scoring: a Win Selection that wins scores Points equal to the Best Tote Win odds; a Place Selection that places scores Points equal to the Best Tote Place odds.
- 3. Sports Leg scoring: a winning Selection scores Points equal to the Fixed Odds at placement; multiple winning Selections in a Leg multiply together. Draws after full time are scored under our Dead Heat Rules.
- 4. Odds and Points are calculated to two decimal places, with midpoint rounding.
- 5. All Entries appear on the Leaderboard, which is for entertainment and updates near-live. Final results are settled only once we have collected, collated, verified and accepted the Official Results.
7. Determining Winners and Payouts
- 1. First place in each section goes to the highest Points scorer, second to the next highest, and so on, for as many places as the Prize Table provides.
- 2. Ties are settled under dead-heat rules, with the relevant Payouts shared equally.
- 3. Until each section completes, its Payouts and Prize Pool are estimates and may change.
- 4. Payouts are credited to the winning Player's Showdown Account after Official Results are determined. We may correct any error in calculation or payment. If a correction produces a negative Showdown Account balance, that amount is a debt immediately due and repayable to us.
- 5. Winnings from bonus-funded Entries are paid less the stake amount.
- 6. Payouts under $1,000 are credited within 24 hours of the Showdown completing. Payouts of $1,000 or more may take up to one (1) week.
8. Withdrawals and Limits
Funds held in your Showdown Wallet may be withdrawn to a verified payment method subject to our General Terms & Conditions and identity-verification requirements. The minimum Showdown withdrawal amount is the amount shown in your Showdown account. We may apply Entry, deposit and participation limits to the Showdown product and may decline or reverse Entries that breach those limits or our terms.
9. Back Your Bet (BYB)
- 1. We may offer BYB on Main Showdowns and other Showdowns at our discretion.
- 2. BYB markets may range from "2 or more Green Thumbs" up to "12 Green Thumbs", at the odds displayed at the time of placement.
- 3. A BYB is a bet on your own punting ability; a winning BYB pays the stake multiplied by the odds for the selected outcome.
- 4. Where the underlying Showdown involves an abandoned Race or a scratched Selection and the BYB outcome cannot be determined, the BYB is cancelled and the stake refunded.
10. Responsible Gambling (Showdown)
Because Showdown uses a separate account, wallet and balance, you can apply responsible-gambling controls to Showdown independently of the main Betting product. Deposit limits, spend tracking, time-outs, self-exclusion and other available tools can be set within your Showdown Account. We are committed to safer gambling; you must be 18 or over to participate. For confidential support, contact the national gambling help service or call 1800 858 858. Think! About your choices. Gamble responsibly.
11. Disputes and General
- 1. Any dispute about a Showdown bet is handled under the Dispute Resolution provisions of our General Terms & Conditions.
- 2. These Rules operate together with our General Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. Where these Rules are silent, those documents apply; where there is a conflict on a Showdown matter, these Rules prevail.
- 3. We may amend these Rules from time to time, with changes published on the Showdown Platforms.
- 4. For assistance with the Showdown product, contact us at our support email (see Contact Us).
